In June 2019 Laura and I with Michel spend a week in the Massif Central in France, in a house in the small village Le Vintéol.
We stay one night in Cléry-Saint-André, a village near Orléans on the Loire.
Our bed and breakfast is a converted farm, and our rooms are on the top floor.
Meung-sur-Loire, the village on the other side of the river.

There is a Philos 4M from 1913 in someone's yard. The owner is not at home.

Near the house are two horses, each with a foal.

We have lunch along a back road.

The house next door seems to be a ruin.

Our bedroom.
In the bedroom is a box with letters that someone as a prisoner of war during World War II sent to Le Vintéol.
Our terrace. It's very warm; several days in a row the afternoon temperature is over 40 °C, and in the evening it cools down all too slowly. Each following day we find the heat a little harder to bear.
The garden.
Because of the heat we often go swimming (but not in this lake, if I remember correctly).
Laura on the Puy de Dôme. In this heat it is advisable to do little and to do it slowly, but still we want to go out and do something. On top of the mountain there is a bit more wind and the heat is just a bit less intense.

It is so warm that even I wear shorts. That is telling (phone photo by Laura).
Apart from us, in the restaurant in the village that evening there is only one other guest. We have a beer with him in the bath. We usually stay outside for a long time in the evenings. We see a bright spot that we suspect may be Venus.
After this week Michel continues his holidays in other parts of France, and Laura and I travel to Kippel in Switzerland for a week.
